Computer Games
Are computer games bad for you? Well this is a question to think about? Hopefully this report summarizes it all.
Computer games, also known as PC games are video games played on personal
computers rather than dedicated video games console or arcade machine. Some
examples of computer games are: Club penguin, Call of Duty and Minecraft.
Computer games do have benefits. Research shows that computer games can therapeutic for children
with chronic illnesses. In 2014, University of Utah released a study to examine
effects of regular gaming on children with illnesses, such as Autism,
depression and Parkinson’s disease. The results of this research proved that certain
games they played show signs of
improvement in resilience, empowerment and fighting spirit.
On the other hand, it could be
argued that computer games lead to addiction. Too
much addiction effects their social interaction. If gamers have too little
social interaction, they can end up being shy and introvert. Addiction can also
under develop the gamer’s brain, this usually happens with children younger
than eighteen.
Overall, most people think children should be allowed to play computer
games but in a time limit. If the gamers are allowed to play freely it will be
hard for them to perform well in school and it can affect their social life too.
With a time limit the gamers will not get addicted and will be on the safe
side.
